Bull and Schwarz Digits announced a memorandum of understanding on November 3 to develop European-controlled AI and cloud infrastructure. Bull would contribute advanced computing and manufacturing capabilities, while Schwarz Digits would contribute its STACKIT cloud environment.

A proposed division of responsibilities

The partners plan to bring BullSequana AI to the STACKIT Marketplace and co-design servers using Open Compute Project standards. They also identify enterprise-software integration and larger computing projects as areas for further collaboration.

Control spans the stack

The sovereignty proposition covers infrastructure, software and operations under European jurisdiction. Its practical value depends on contractual responsibilities, administrative access and the ability to operate and update the complete service.

Delivery will establish the proposition

The announcement provides no firm service launch date or capacity commitment. Published configurations, operating terms and customer deployments would establish how the proposed partnership becomes an available computing service.
